History of the Renegades

The Owners are Brett and Danelle Weaver of Sartell, MN.  Brett and Danelle met while volunteering for the MN Fightin’ Scots semi-pro football team at a St. Cloud Area Chamber of Commerce function.  Brett was the General Manager at the time and Danelle was the Cheer Captain.  When the Scots disbanded, Brett and Danelle decided that once they started a family they would indenture of building their own football franchise.  In September of the 2009 the Renegades were officially created.  Brett is currently employed by Companions Animal Hospital as their Practice Manager  and Danelle is a RN through CentraCare.    They are proud parents of four children, Landon (9) and Raider (6), Major (3) and Amora (1).
The Renegades will continue being active with local non-profit organizations, offering internships to local universities, and help develop young men and women into our community leaders for years to come.  Show your Renegades spirit and pride, by speaking our name and wearing your Renegades colors!  Keep your eye on us as we become an icon in the sports industry and put the area on the national map!

NSFL Back for 2018

Blaine, MN - Mid November the Northern States Football League did something that has not been done in recent memory or at all in the world of Semi-Professional/Amateur Football in Minnesota.  They held a Free Agent combine for all players interested in joining a team in the 2018 NSFL.

Each of the 6 teams that have been chosen for the rejuvenation of the NSFL for the 2018 season had staff in attendance and helping run the combine.  Brett Weaver, founder of the NSFL, and Kimberly Johnson, current Director, dreamed up this event to bring the community of Semi Professional Football to another level for their league.

The event had over 200+ players interested and/or committed to the event November 18 at the Blaine National Sports center.  In addition to players, the League provided teams with personal access to equipment vendors such as Eastbay, team gear vendor Graffic Traffic, a live dj, photographer/videographer, N1 Motion personal training, and even a guest appearance by former NFL player Robert Tate.

Players can sign with a NSFL team starting January 1, 2018.
